Welcome! This blog has been put together by students in the Cultural Studies Graduate Group at UC Davis in anticipation of the 2010 Cultural Studies Association conference in Berkeley. The purpose of the site is twofold: one, to allow us to communicate with each other about panels ideas, collaboration attempts, news, etc, and two, to invite collaboration with other Cultural Studies-affiliated programs at other schools. This sounds terrific! In light of Abbie's comments at the end of her previous email (item 3) I thought that it might be worth extending our tendrils to both Simon Fraser University in Vancouver and Canterbury, New Zealand's The University of Christchurch Cultural Studies Program.
so, i've been in contact with the CSA executive committee and it looks like the CFP will be coming out by July 1st and CSA itself is scheduled for mid March (18th-20th) and is being organized by a Berkeley professor. The chances for Davis participation look good!
